A niche manufacturer of industrial machine consumable components is looking for a Product Development Manager to build on the Company’s legacy of success and to help bring the organization to the next level.


Accountabilities:

The Product Development Manager will be responsible for managing technical activities, schedules, and the interdepartmental/customer communications to facilitate product completion on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate will make use of marketing tools and data to develop product roadmaps for their relevant product lines to support the growth of the business.

  • Lead team to drive the development and implementation processes for product development.
  • Develops and directs development of schedules and critical deliverables, assigned tasks to appropriate resources.
  • Define (multi-generational) product roadmaps which include new product development, value engineering and cost reduction activities to achieve year-over-year sales and earnings growth.
  • Generates all required documentation in support of the development and manufacturing products and processes, including timelines, responsibilities, engineering protocols, reports, bill of materials, assembling instructions, manufacturing instructions and procedures.
  • Develops plans to evaluate process repeatability and stability through equipment qualification and process validation.
  • Ensures compliance.Drive the product brand strategy and influence marketing activities.
  • Tracks program progress and identifies any delays or issues.
  • Interacts with teams and senior management to provide status updates and resolve open issues.
  • Recommends and implements changes to product, processes to resolve escalated produce solutions to coordination with the team.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization.
  • Provide regular project status reports

 

REQUIRED Qualifications and skills:

  • 1 to 5 years of project or product engineering/management experience or equivalentStrong Manufacturing background.Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to manage all aspects of programs, including technical testing, communicating with stakeholders, providing risk assessment and business impact.
  • Strong mechanical skills.Knowledge of machine process improvement practicesMechatronics certificate/degree or Engineering degree desirable.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
